Senior Recital of Scott Muenz and Alicia Good
Topic: Gig
On November 20th, the quintet played for the senior recital of two of our members, Scott and Alicia. We premiered two new pieces to us: an arrangement of Asturias as well as The Great Gate of Kiev. Accompanying the quintet was Philip High on organ.

Great Job to Scott and Alicia, who both put on a wonderful program!

CONGRATULATIONS to our two trumpet players who have just become engaged (not to each other)! Greg has become engaged to his girlfriend Heather (also a Millersville alumn), and Alicia has been engaged to her boyfriend John (a sometime sub for our quintet). Congrats you two!

Gettysburg Times
Topic: Review
Good news: the quintet was pictured in the latest edition of the Gettysburg Times from our performance at the Gettysburg Brass Festival. We are trying to get a copy of the picture and/or article so we can post it. Keep checking for updates!

Here is an email we recieved from Ben Jones of Gettysburg, who introduced our quintet at the festival:

"What a kick it was to watch and listen to you "kids" perform last night on Lincoln Square!! I was really impressed with your musicianship and stage presence. You certainly prepared well for your performance. Take care and keep up the good playing."

Thanks Ben!

Gettysburg Brass Festival
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Gig
The quintet has just returned from a great playing experience at Gettysburgs 8th annual Brass Festival. The festival is continuing until the 11th of June, and a list of performers can be found at its webstie: http://www.gettysburgbrassbandfestival.org/. Although the weather was a little wet, we had a nice and receptive crowd in the square for our performance. We would like to thank Ben Jones of Gettysburg for introducing us, and Melissa Good for filling in on trumpet for Greg Innes, who was away this week. Alicia and Melissa will be performing later this month at an outdoor church service in Ephrata. We are looking forward to our next gig!

JP has just accepted a long-term substitute position at Stewart Middle School in the Norristown Area School District. He will be teaching general music and choir for the first 12 weeks of the fall semester. He will also return to the organ bench at Old Zion Lutheran Church in Philadelphia in September as Organist and Choir Director. Congratulations JP!
